The Power of Three Days.

It’s Easter weekend! The weekend we look forward to because it precedes Spring Break, is accompanied by Easter egg hunts and big dinners with our families, and reminds us to slow down and reflect on the importance of the days leading up to Easter.

Easter is a holiday of fun, but for my family Easter also takes on a more somber note. This is the weekend the world decided to sentence our Lord to death. Death on a cross, even. A painful, slow, tortuous way to die. They were blind to His truth – that He was, and is, the Lord! That He was, and is, here to save! And so they killed him, and he was buried this Good Friday.

But, the story thankfully doesn’t end there. OH, if the story ended there! Our hope would be lost, and life after death would be grim. We would all reap the punishment due to us, and salvation would be lost. But, after three long days of being buried and claiming victory over death, Jesus miraculously rose from the grave. Hallelujah!

This is the hope that Easter brings us each year – and every day of our lives! What an awesome reminder that our God loves us! He loves us so much that He was willing to send his son to die on the cross for us, taking our sins with him to death, eliminating the sting of Hell, and giving us new life in Him {John 3:16}.

If this is the first time you have heard this version of the Easter story – the version without bunnies and chocolate eggs – I encourage you to seek out a church near you and explore how this story affects you and your family this season. Or, contact me and I would love to chat!

This is a great time to be alive people! The Lord has risen, He is no longer in the grave – just as He said! {Matthew 28:6} There is no other Savior like him. Rejoice in this with me today!

Happy Easter!
